Tools required for your installation

When installing SoftLawn there are a variety of tools that are needed for the job. All the power tools required can be rented from local companies and attained easily. Here is a list of tools required for installing SoftLawn.

Grass cutter - this cuts the grass into long strips making it easy to roll- up and remove from the area.

Wheelbarrow and shovels - used for moving the aggregate into various areas of the job site.

Heavy duty rakes - these are for spreading the aggregate out evenly.

Plate compacter - for compacting the aggregate so the surface is hard and flat.

Measuring tape and spray paint - used to measure and mark the area into 2m or 4 m widths.

Trowel - used to smooth any lines left by the compacter and any other little patches.
 

 

Carpet knives - be used to cut and trim the SoftLawn with clean edges. Blades should be replaced often as this helps maintain a clean cut.

Seaming tape - to seam joints together to form one piece.

Carpet kicker - to stretch the turf and remove any creases before it is secured.

Hammer and galvanised nails - to secure the edges of the turf along the perimeter.

Drop spreader, power broom and stiff brush - the power broom will be used when the turf is initially laid. The drop spreader used to drop kiln dried sand into the fibres. When the sand is dropped it will be brushed into the fibres with either a stiff brush or power broom.

Leaf Blower - used to blow any debris off and will be used occasionally in the future to blow leaves off.
